AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala is set to undergo surgery on his thigh, potentially ruling him out for the remainder of the season, the Serie A club announced on Thursday.
The 31-year-old has been a key player for Roma this season, contributing eight goals and four assists across all competitions. His last appearance came in a 1-0 victory over Cagliari last weekend.
While the club did not specify a recovery timeline, surgery on the semitendinosus tendon typically requires at least three months of rehabilitation, making a return before the season’s end unlikely.
AS Roma English on X (formerly Twitter): “Paulo Dybala will undergo surgery in the coming days following an injury to his left semitendinosus tendon. The player and the club have mutually agreed that this is the best course of action for an optimal recovery. Wishing Paulo a speedy recovery – we look forward to seeing… pic.twitter.com/ugkyeuloTM / X”

Since Claudio Ranieri’s appointment as manager in November, Roma has experienced a resurgence, climbing from 12th to seventh in Serie A as they push for European qualification.
Currently, they trail fifth-placed Juventus by three points and sit four points behind fourth-placed Bologna. Their next fixture is an away match against Lecce on March 29, following the international break.
