Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has described how Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi arrested him in Anambra state in 2013 when Obi was governor of the state.
El-Rufai stated at an interactive session of the Arewa Joint Committee in Kaduna on Monday that Obi arrested and detained him for 48 hours.
According to El-Rufai, Obi was running for re-election as a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the time.
El-Rufai stated that he was in Anambra at the time to monitor the state’s governorship bye-election.
El-Rufai stated that now that the Labour Party candidate has entered his domain, he has access to all security architecture.
Meanwhile, Obi defended his position, claiming that El-Rufai was overreacting by accusing him of bigotry given the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
