Doyin Okupe, the Director General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council in Ogun State, was ejected on Thursday for alleged non-financial membership, high-handedness, and financial irresponsibility.

Okupe was expelled, along with ten other members, for violating the party’s constitution.

Michael Ashade, the party’s state chairman, revealed this in Abeokuta, the state capital, claiming that the expelled members had allegedly violated the Labour Party constitution.

Okupe ceased to be a party member, according to Ashade, who was accompanied by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, and State Secretary, Feyisola Michael, after failing to meet the essential constitutional standards for membership status.

Okupe, he added, has forfeited his membership in the party after failing to pay his membership dues for the last six months after joining, and is no longer fit and able to continue acting as the DG of the Presidential Campaign Council.

According to Ashade, Okupe and ten others violated Article 9(3) sub(iii) and Article 9(3)xi of the LP constitution and, as a result, are no longer party members.

The party chairman also charged him of financial irresponsibility in relation to money authorised for the Ogun LP state on member mobilisation for the Oyo State rally conducted last week in Ibadan.
