Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential Candidate, is in grief following the death of Mallam Lawal Garba, one of the party’s Zonal Chairmen in Kaduna State.
On his way home after the party’s interaction with Northern stakeholders at Arewa House, Kaduna, Garba was killed in a fatal road car collision along the Kaduna-Zaria route.
Obi expressed his sadness at the tragic death of Mallam Lawal Garba in a statement signed by the Chief Spokesman of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Elder Stateman had accompanied other party faithfuls to see off the presidential candidate and his vice, Datti Baba Ahmed, as they returned to Abuja from the Arewa House engagement to the Kaduna Airport and were on their way back home when the disaster occurred.
Obi stated that the late party chairman died a martyr because he died battling to save Nigeria from catastrophic collapse.
