According to Yabagi Sani, Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, the Independent National Electoral Commission is having issues in administering the implementation of the new Electoral Act 2022.
Sani also desired an environment in which everyone could engage in the political process.
The IPAC Chairman, who is also the current National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, questioned the commission’s handling of the new electoral law’s implementation.
He added that any law that disenfranchises the public should be examined since it cannot be regarded to be in accordance with the constitution.
Sani also urged INEC to open up the electoral process in order to achieve an inclusive process. He also emphasized that the Commission should have done more immediately to provide political parties unrestricted access to democracy.
