Tinubu urged Atiku to return the “gesture” he made to him when he ran for president under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2007 by relinquishing his ambition and endorsing him.
Tinubu made the address on Monday at an interactive session with leaders from the country’s north under the auspices of the Arewa Joint Committee.
The meeting was part of a larger discussion with chosen presidential candidates about their intentions for the region ahead of the general elections in 2023.
The APC presidential candidate’s appearance followed two days after his PDP adversary had a similar meeting with northern leaders.
A coalition of six Northern organisations, including the Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Northern Elders Forum, and Jamar Matan Arewa, organized the interactive session at the Arewa House in Kaduna.
