Former Edo State governor and the All Progressives Congress chieftain Adams Oshiomole, has stated that what the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, failed to achieve together cannot be achieved individually.
Atiku and Obi were the PDP’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2019 general election, during which incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari won.
Oshiomhole stated that since they failed together in 2019, they will fail individually in 2023 now that they are presidential candidates for different parties.
During an interview on Wednesday, September 28, the former governor said;
“Together they failed, how can they possibly win divided and their constituency is the same? If you check Atiku’s votes, you will find that he got more votes in the South-South and Southeast than he got in the entire North, so he was more favoured in the South than in the North,”
Speaking about the results of the Bloomberg opinion poll released on Wednesday, Oshiomole said it lacked credibility because it was conducted to sway public opinion by Peter Obi supporters.
He added that an Economic Intelligence Unit poll predicted Tinubu would win the election but was not released on social media because some people were dissatisfied with the results.
