The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba, that its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is a symbol of national unity, cohesion, and tolerance who is at ease and well-liked throughout the country.
The party was reacting to purported statements made by Abubakar at the weekend Stakeholders’ Meeting in Kaduna State over his support for a northern president in 2023.
The party condemned the attempt to purposely twist, misrepresent, and take Abubakar’s statements during the meeting out of context.
The party therefore calls on all Nigerians to remain focused on the PDP’s mission to rescue, reunite, rebuild and restore our nation on the path of peace, national cohesion and economic prosperity, which the Atiku/Okowa Presidential ticket represents.”
